I'd be concerned that the ducting itself may cause issue with the signal over the twister pair cable. Especially if the ducting itself goes anywhere near mains wiring for example - ie induction issues on your unshielded cabling.

On the other hand... it may simply act as a hollow conducter... ie shield, to protect the signal...

Given you're looking at cat 6 (and not, say, cat 5 or 5e) it sounds like you're looking for gigabit performance - so maybe do it "by the book" and avoid any variables. Will you be getting the cabling properly tested once you've installed it, or will you just use it and see if it works?
