Heating/ Air conditioning - 2007/03/15 04:05 I am interested in purchasing and fitting a Ducted Heating system at home for the winter using an outdoor heater and was looking at the Brivis MPS, but if come summer and I wanted to add the Air Conditioner kit on does the evaporator go onto the heater unit or under the house and will that work?

Re:Heating/ Air conditioning - 2007/03/16 18:59 Hi Matty,

The evaporator coil goes under the house, and yes it will work as long as the system has been designed for add-on air conditioning. The coil goes into the supply air ducting, and of course the outdoor unit/compressor sits outside, somewhere near the heater usually.

Keep in mind that when it comes to gas ducted heating with add-on cooling - having the system properly design and installed is imperative. We don't sell add-on cooling DIY kits for this reason. When your spending close to ten thousand dollars on a heating and cooling system - don't take any chances - let the experts do it right!
